Central Corfu

We begin the tour with a visit to the breath-taking town of Corfu and see old buildings dating back to the yonder years, still standing today. Experience the delightful architecture of the town painted with traditional Corfiot colours, sample traditional cuisine and soak up the history as you walk around the quaint streets.

Pelekas

Next stop is the village that has something for everyone. It is also thought to be on one of the most beautiful hills on the island. It has magnificent panoramic views of the surrounding natural beauty and towns.

Kaiser’s Throne

From Pelekas we travel to the Kaiser’s throne, renowned for its spectacular sunsets off the west coast. Enjoy views over the crystal clear Ionian Sea, this was also enjoyed by Kaiser Wilhelm II many years ago. Experience majestic views of the evergreen northern and eastern side of the island, as well as the rugged southwest coast.

Monastery of Virgin Mary, Paleokastritsa

Next stop is Paleokastritsa, which is considered to be the most beautiful sight on the Island.

The Monastery of Virgin Mary is situated on a lush green hill above the beach and is still inhabited by a community of monks. It features a small museum where a unique collection of Byzantine and Post Byzantine icons are housed. See the beautiful Domitian of the Virgin Mary, silver bound bibles and other religious artifacts of the Greek Orthodox Church. You will then be able to admire the beautiful seascapes from the monastery gardens.

Old Corfu Town

Finally we head towards the Old Fortress in Corfu town, the most interesting tourist attraction. The Venetians originally built the town with narrow streets between the houses, which are known as ‘Kandounia’. The Liston Square is home to the Royal Palace of St George and St Michael built by the first British commissioner. This is a great place to enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by! In the heart of the town, you can visit the 300-year old church, St Spryridon the town’s most famous monument. You will also be able to shop ‘til you drop, visit many museums and indulge in traditional local food at a wide variety of restaurants.
